Build an Army controls

Roblox movement plus this game’s Deploy, Undeploy, barracks, and placement — no fake button atlas.

Last updated:

Build an Army uses ordinary Roblox movement plus a small set of tycoon actions: open the barracks, place troops, Deploy to march a lane, and Undeploy to pull that send back. This page documents that much. It will not invent a full keybind table for HUD labels we have not screenshot-documented in public.

The game is a free LiveForFun tycoon on four-player servers, live since 7 August 2025. You are controlling an avatar in a shared instance and an army on a lane. Those are different objects. Walking your avatar into the volcano-looking region is not the same as the army marching there.

If you still need the first-session order of buys, go back to Getting Started. If you need the loop those buttons serve, use How to Play.

PC defaults (Roblox)

On a keyboard and mouse, Roblox defaults still apply unless you rebound them in the Roblox menu:

  • WASD moves the avatar.
  • Space jumps.
  • Right mouse (hold and drag) yaws and pitches the camera. Scroll zooms.
  • Left mouse interacts with world buttons and UI.
  • Esc opens Roblox’s own menu, not the barracks.

Sprint is not a documented default for this title’s economy. Sprint Permanent is an offsale gamepass, which is a strong hint that extra avatar speed was a paid extra, not the core control scheme. Do not assume Left Shift is “the Build an Army sprint key” just because other Roblox games use it.

You do not need a gamepad. If you use one, stick movement and camera follow Roblox’s gamepad map; the barracks and Deploy still have to be aimed with whatever cursor or highlight the client gives you.

Mobile defaults (Roblox)

On a phone or tablet you get the usual virtual thumbstick and jump. Drag on empty space to move the camera; pinch to zoom when the client allows it. Tap world buttons and GUI.

Fat-finger the Deploy control and you can send a half-built line. Zoom out enough to see both the barracks and the lane before you tap. Mobile is fully able to play this tycoon; it is just easier to mis-tap Undeploy when you meant to open the shop.

We do not have a public, dated screenshot set of every mobile HUD slot. If a button moved after a patch, believe the label on your screen.

Barracks shop UI

The barracks is the shop. Walk the avatar to it and use the on-screen shop interface to buy the starter infantry soldier, damage upgrades, and later stock. Exact panel titles can change. The function does not: this is where the tycoon spends cash.

After a buy, you still have to place troops. Placement is a world action, not an automatic dump onto the lane. If you bought and nothing appeared in the march, you probably skipped place or skipped Deploy — two different misses.

Shop strategy is not a control issue. Read the Barracks Guide and How to Unlock Units once you can actually click the rows.

Deploy and Undeploy

These two are the game-specific buttons worth naming.

Deploy sends the placed army down the lane. Income from distance and combat does not start because you bought a soldier. It starts because the soldier is walking.

Undeploy exists. It pulls a send back so you can restock, spend, or avoid feeding a sergeant a lineup you still need. It is not “delete army.” It is also not a money cheat; pulling back before any distance is how you earn nothing.

We will not pretend we have pixel coordinates for those buttons on every device. Look for those words (or the current equivalent label) on the HUD. If LiveForFun relabels them, the loop is still send and pull.

Placing troops and looking at the lane

Placement needs a camera that can see your army area. Zoom out. Orbit. On PC that is right mouse plus scroll; on mobile that is drag plus pinch. Place a line you can actually see. Then look down the lane so the first sergeant contact is on-screen.

Other players can be in the same four-player server. Their avatars are not your troops. Do not spend ten minutes trying to “control” someone else’s line.

If the camera is inside a wall, that is Roblox camera clip, not a missing key. Back the avatar out, zoom out, try again.

What we are not going to fake

We will not publish a 20-row “press F to salute” table. We will not claim a emote wheel is required. We will not list a codes keypad as a default control — there are no confirmed public codes as of September 2026, so a codes UI may not even be present. Check Codes before you hunt a Redeem key.

Nuke! is a 7,214 Robux OP gamepass. If it adds a control, it is a paid extra, not part of the free HUD this article describes. Do not expect Sprint Permanent to reappear as a bind.

Quality-of-life requests belong on the LiveForFun group wall. When the HUD actually changes, Updates is the log.

If a button moved after a patch

Trust the on-screen Deploy and Undeploy labels over this article’s layout guesses. HUD chrome changes faster than the loop. File the change on the group wall if the new label is unclear, then come back to How to Earn Money and Offline Earnings — those pages care that you can press the buttons, not where the pixels sat in 2025.

Client injectors that click Deploy for you are a Scripts problem, not a control scheme. Learn the taps yourself; the lane is the game.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What are the important Build an Army buttons?

Barracks shop, place troops, Deploy, and Undeploy. Avatar movement is ordinary Roblox WASD or a thumbstick. The loop they serve is in How to Play.

Is there a full official keybind list?

Not a public screenshot-documented atlas we can reprint. This page stays honest about that and names only the actions we can stand behind.

How do I move the camera on PC and mobile?

PC: hold right mouse and scroll to zoom. Mobile: drag and pinch. You need that camera to place troops and watch the lane, as in Getting Started.

Does this game have a sprint key?

Sprint Permanent is an offsale gamepass, so extra avatar speed is not a documented free default. Marching the army, not sprinting the avatar, earns cash.

Where is the codes button?

Do not assume one exists. There are no confirmed public codes as of September 2026. See Codes before hunting a Redeem control.

I tapped Deploy and nothing marched. Why?

Usually nothing was placed, or the last army was already wiped. Place from the barracks first, then Deploy. Shop notes are in the Barracks Guide.
