Build an Army Unit Tier List
S through D for play patterns and rarity bands. LiveForFun has not published a full named roster with stats.
This page is the named S–D list for Build an Army, and it is honest about what it cannot be. LiveForFun has not published a full named roster with HP, DPS, range, or shop prices. The Roblox description only promises barracks units first, then rare and legendary units with unique abilities later. If another wiki shows a Swordsman at $50 or a Witch row, that table belongs to a different game.
We therefore rank play patterns and rarity bands, not a fake shop. The three tests are the same as the tier list hub: survival distance, cash per run, and leftover offline value. Pair this list with best army comps when you are ready to spend, and with the barracks guide when you are standing in the shop.
S tier — upgraded cores and later legendaries
Damage-upgraded core infantry that actually clears sergeants. Early footage is consistent: one unupgraded infantry walks into two sergeants and melts. The same soldier, after a damage upgrade, starts winning the trade. That upgrade is the first S-tier purchase on a new plot because it moves all three tests at once. Distance goes up, undeploy pays more, and the leftover army is less likely to vanish the moment you tab out.
Later legendary unique-ability units, once unlocked. The official page says legendaries exist and that each has a unique ability. We do not invent names or numbers for them. When a legendary finally appears in your barracks, it earns S if the unique ability does something the infantry core cannot: skip a wipe, punch through a pack that used to stall the march, or keep the column moving while you are offline. If it is only a reskin that dies in the same place, it is not S yet. Log one march, compare studs, then decide.
S is not “the most expensive thing in the shop.” S is the pattern that turns a failed sergeant fight into a paid walk.
A tier — rares that outwalk infantry
Rare units as soon as the barracks offers them, if they survive farther than infantry. Rare is the middle official band. Buy a rare when it is actually on offer and when a test march shows more distance than your current upgraded infantry. Do not buy a rare because the label sounds fancy. Do not skip a rare that clearly soaks a pack your infantry cannot.
If two rares are visible and you cannot read stats, run the cheaper one first. Cash spent on a rare that dies on the same sergeant tile as infantry is just a B-tier body with a prettier name. Cash spent on a rare that walks past that tile is A, and it should sit in the column you leave running overnight.
Read rare and legendary units for how to slot a unique ability into a march without inventing a kit.
B tier — extra unupgraded bodies for soak
Extra un-upgraded bodies bought as soak. A second or third cheap infantry can eat a first hit so the upgraded core keeps walking. That is a real use. It is not a damage plan. If you keep buying copies instead of the damage upgrade that would have put you in S, you are converting B-tier soak into a C-tier mistake.
Soak belongs behind the core, not instead of it. On a 4-player server nobody is grading how crowded your plot looks. The lane only cares whether the front of the column is still moving.
C tier — skipped upgrades and Nuke without a farm
Ignoring upgrades. Every battle is supposed to feed troop upgrades. If you bank cash and only buy more unupgraded infantry, you are replaying the melt on purpose.
Dumping cash on Nuke without a farm. Nuke is listed around 7,214 Robux and labeled OP. It is optional pay-to-skip, not a required unit. If the plot has no upgraded core and no offline income, Nuke is a firework over an empty lane. The pass does not replace the barracks loop. Kids do not need it. Adults who want a skip button should still own an S-tier core so there is something left to skip toward.
Sprint (Permanent) is offsale and is not a ranking lever you can buy today.
D tier — the single unupgraded march
Marching with a single unupgraded infantry into sergeant packs. This is the default first death, not a strategy. Deploy, watch the melt, undeploy if anything paid, buy the damage upgrade, then march again. Repeating the lone unupgraded send is how you stay broke.
The volcano landmark sits much farther down the lane than those first sergeants. You do not reach it by stacking hope. You reach it by surviving the pack that is actually in front of you.
How to apply the list without a stat sheet
- Write down how far the last march walked before the wipe.
- Buy one change only: a damage upgrade, a rare, or a soak body.
- March again. Keep the change if distance or undeploy cash went up.
- Leave the winner deployed when you log out so leftover offline value has something to work with.
That is the whole method. No invented DPS. No copied Witch table. If LiveForFun later posts a named roster, this page will name names. Until then, the units hub is the roster overview, and this list is the rank of how you use it.
If a new rare appears in your barracks tonight, test it on one march and only then rewrite your personal S-band.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why is this not a list of named troops with DPS?
LiveForFun has not published a full named roster with stats. Ranking invented numbers would mislead players. We rank patterns and rarity bands instead.
Is starter infantry actually S-tier?
Unupgraded infantry is D if you send it alone into sergeants. The same infantry becomes S after the damage upgrade that lets it clear those packs. The upgrade is the rank, not the model name.
When should I buy a rare unit?
As soon as the barracks offers one that survives farther than your current infantry. Details sit on rare and legendary units.
Where does Nuke sit on this list?
The pass is account power, not a barracks unit. Buying it with no farm is a C-tier pattern. Read gamepasses before you spend Robux.
How do I turn this list into a lineup?
Use best army comps as a spending plan for early, mid, and offline marches, then buy in the barracks.
Is this the same ranking as Make a Army?
No. Different place, different shop. Do not import those unit prices here.
